Villa Montalvo for Dia de los Muertos

We went back to Villa Montalvo to go on the full nature path without being rushed.
We'd like to come when the tours are open again and see inside the building, but you can't really beat the nature side. It's relatively close by, ample parking, not crowded, maintained trails, plenty of shade, and lots of shorter loop options with and without incline.
Taking a snack break at the top of the climb.
We aren't great at fitting in one shot.
A "Perry way"/shortcut with water is Perry's favorite.
The boys ran ahead and looped back so many times I think they doubled the distance we covered.
They loved this new bridge. After the hike, Jonah asked if we could go back to the bridge next time. I'm not sure what was so cool about it for them.
We walked around the big building and heard music.
Jane got down to run around.
We found an ofrenda all set for Dia de los Muertos and learned a little bit about some of the family's lives.
We also walked through the pond and landscaped area.
Jane was ready to go for a swim.
We enjoyed spending more time exploring this area while it's still open and free to the public.
