Intuitive Family Party

We love John's family holiday work party. We went straight to the bumper cars at the beginning since the line gets long. Perry was devastated to not be tall enough, but this time they let him ride along with me!
It turns out the new attraction, ice skating, should have been our first stop. We didn't make it in, but now we know for next year.
Little Jane was much more alert for this work party than the one in the summer.
We saw the Winterfest lights, which were timed to music.
We had a nice dinner and the kids won some prizes in the minute to win it challenges and games.
Time always goes so quickly and before we knew it, we needed to head home to get the kids to bed. They didn't want to go, so we did one last carousel ride as a whole family before leaving.
We always look forward to this party and had a great night.

November II

Scott was chosen as a participant at the science show at the library. He's very into science and magic tricks, so it was a perfect activity for him.
Jane and Amanda Jane.
Our little, fierce girl.
Playing some pjmasks matching. He doesn't abide by the rules and likes to match up people he wants to be together. It's really fun to try to read his 3 year old mind.
Trying some rice cereal.
She liked it, but wasn't great at getting it down.
Her dark, long hair is getting replaced by blonde fluff.
Entertaining Jane with the pop up favorite.
Snuggly babies.
Always wants to be held, especially by Daddy.
Cozied up for our morning walk to school.

The cutest little sailor baby
Sucking her tiny thumb in her sleep.
Matching jams! I was excited Hanna Andersson made the same print this year so I could get Jane a pair. And when they went on sale, I bought one for Scott and Jane in the next size so we're set for 3+ years now.
When Jane's awake, we walk to school in the baby carrier. She loves facing out and looking at everyone.
Slightly sitting up, trying to keep her happy at the grocery store. She played with the water bottle for a few minutes before crying to be held.
She was just tired.
A little checkers and baby loves.
Such a sweetie in her cozy tights.
Perry showing Jane his picture.
Little readers taking advantage of our big library.
Jane just noticed the tv.
Oh hi!
Soothing herself by sucking her thumb and holding her foot. Whatever works, Janie girl.
My friend gave Jane this dress, but by the time it fit, the hat was too small. Apparently she has a big head.

The bottom is attached, my favorite.
Her Thanksgiving dress was a little big, but I'm so glad I bought it before the store closed.
She loves it. Really, though, it's soft and thick and well-made.
Wiggled her way out of the bouncy seat.
Perry wanted to eat his peepa in his box.
Getting some tummy time
Another day, another adorable dress

When we got home from our Thanksgiving trip, we put up our Christmas tree. We're thinking one, maybe two more years with this one then we'll go back to getting real trees.
Adding the baby to the picture quadruples the chaos.
She does well on her own, though.
Reading Harry Potter together
Jane will stay on the floor longer if we engage with her.
She also likes to do "rolly pollies,"
which the boys love and they cheer her on like it's the first time, every time.

Thanksgiving in Arizona

We flew out to Tuscon to stay with John's parents the week of Thanksgiving.
Jane was very excited for her first flight.
Perry enjoyed his new book on the plane.
Jonah and Scott loved these sticker puzzle books.
Jane was a perfect angel. Even taking off and landing didn't bother her. Considering how she does in the car, we were pleasantly surprised she traveled well.
Our rental van wasn't ready when we landed and it made for a long, late night. The next morning the kids were up bright and early, though, ready for church and then playing with cousins.
Jane got to meet more several doting cousins.
Madoc got some good smiles out of her.
My favorite part of traveling right now is all the extra time with John. The kids love it, too. Also, Karen and Alan's house is beautiful; they look like they're in a cereal commercial.
Train track fun. That night a chair dropped on Perry's foot and he broke his baby toe.
The next day they all went out to explore and Jonah came back quickly with a bloody nose. We had a few over the week just from dry air.
Lunch with Marva while Karen was at a hair appointment.
Then we tried to swim, but it was freezing.
Even the hot tub wasn't warming up, so we didn't last long.
We took Scott to see a show at the Gaslight Theater, which was really fun. He was cracking up and we had to get him to sit down at one point. Afterwards he said he didn't like it because he missed playing time at home.
So we let him stay up even later to get one game of Battleship in with Grandma before bed. He was thrilled.
Janie girl was not a great sleeper, but she loved being held. The only time she was down was diaper changes.
Battleship again. We played lots of games. The kids love board games and they had lots of new ones to try.
Perry and Grandma having some breakfast and quality time together.
My sweetie girl.

We walked through the easement again. The boys went back there constantly playing made up games and collecting quartz. They loved it so much.
I-spy a Jonah Bear.
It is a perfect setup with the big open space that feels open and they could go explore, but it's still closed off so they can't go too far.
It's exactly what I would love in our backyard for the kids to have more freedom and time in nature, but still be safe and close to home.
We dragged the kids away from the outdoors to go see Frozen 2.
I absolutely loved it. I teared up several times and was so grateful my kids are growing up in a time with movies like that, especially Jane. It was a perfect first movie for her. She did sleep through most of it, but it still counts.
After the movie we got Mexican food and Perry made a new bff, Uncle Neil.
Jane is not sure why she isn't being held.
Ahh that's much better.
We also went to the local park. I jogged there and John brought the kids over to play and pick up pecans from all the trees.
They loved finding them,
cracking them,
and eating them.
Our little bathing beauty.
Enjoying the warm tub.
We just pretended it was summer and had s'mores after dinner.
Getting some snuggles with Aunt Deb.
Jonah needed a turn, as always.
Jane was a little heavy for Grandma Marva, her only great grandparent.
Little turkeys
The boys had fun with Joseph and Adelaide
and we loved playing with Emmeline.
Soaking in one more night of Grandma before we had to leave for home.
Cutie Perry the traveler, so proud of himself for navigating his way with his little rolly bag.
We had an amazing week and are looking forward to our next chance to visit.
