Jonah 10 Months

Jonah was not in the mood for pictures, but I played peek-a-boo behind the camera and he perked right up.
Jonah is spitting up less now and climbing everything.
He sleeps through the night about 1/3 of the time and wakes up once to eat the other 2/3. He still puts himself to sleep and goes down easily for naps twice a day.
He is muuuuch happier after a nap.
His reddish blond hair is growing in curly.
Jonah and Scott are starting to join forces as troublemakers, but that sweet face exonerates him every time.

May II

Jonah has started getting into things. Here's his caught face.
And here's his face that lets him get away with everything.
After we came home from church, I changed out of my dress clothes and came out to the kitchen to find Scott in his chair--all ready for lunch.
Lucas and Scott roped Joseph into pulling them around in the wagon.
Paige self-entertained. She's such an angel.
Now that the playroom is done, we spend our Wednesdays climbing up and down the futon to see the trash truck four times a day. Much better than chasing it around the block in our pajamas.
Scott has really grown and developed a lot in the few months since he turned 2. He's almost 3 feet tall and thinned out, and wears mostly size 3 clothes. He sits still now to color or watch a movie.
We suspect he might have some color blindness because he knows his lower and upper case letters, numbers and almost all colors--not red, green or blue. We'll see if he picks them up soon.
He soaks up new things like a sponge. When I put Cars on the other day he yelled out F B I! He played with these alphabet stickers for a long time until Jonah woke up and started eating them.
We spent a couple of Saturday mornings painting more of the exterior of the house. John finished this side wall's 2nd coat.
Then we cleaned and primed the back.
I miss doing projects alongside John. Now we take turns while the other entertains/keeps the kids out of paint.
This smiley boy is an eating fiend. We've increased his meals hoping to start cutting back on milk, but he just finds more room in his stomach. He's burning through a tub of formula every 5 days. An expensive habit.
Getting some baby love. Luckily their baby brother will come much smaller, because I think Jonah weighs more than Paige.
Big boy Jonah having his first solo drive. He loved it and was focused on steering, then smiling, then back to serious.
Checking out the turtle at Happy Hollow.
Jonah also tried the carousel, but seemed more nervous about riding it alone.
One of Scott's chores is helping me with the laundry. Now that he's in an "I do it" stage, I'm trying to come up with more tasks he can do without me and loading the laundry baskets is his favorite.
We went to a swim center for Lucas' birthday party. Scott started jumping in and was fearless about it. John, Joseph and Alan each caught him probably 20 times.
It was a cool center with fun water slides for big people, playground for little people and a lazy river. Unfortunately, it was chilly and nap time, so we didn't stay long and it was kind of expensive for us to come back.
Scott gets our shoes lined up when we need to leave the house. Sometimes he tries mine on to be funny. Usually he gets "Scott shoes. Mommy shoes. Nonah shoes. John shoes." He doesn't know my name at all, but loves saying John.
Scott mimics what we do and say and started copying faces, too. I was doing silly faces at lunch one day and he copied everything until I got my phone out to take a picture.
Kissing his "knee hurt" all better. Who needs mom?
Napping in the Target cart.
Driving in the Safeway cart. Their car and free bakery cookie definitely help ease grocery shopping with kids.
The sunlight in the playroom brings out the red tint in Jonah's hair.
John playing with the kids after work. It looks uncomfortable to me, but he claims any game where he gets to lie down is a good one.
Little mooch.
Not happy about Scott not sharing. Also, love him in these overalls. He looks like a little Mario.
See's double caramels came in, so Scott and I went to pick some up. They always love Scott and give him extra samples. I think they can't resist the "peas" and "teechyou." Manners in a little voice are so cute.
He loves chocolate. No idea where he gets that.

May I

Mowing the weeds and dirt.
Jonah likes to cook while Scott isn't around. I'm hoping they can start making real food soon.
They certainly like eating it.
Smiley and happy
to quiver lip and sad
to screaming crying in less than a minute. These pictures were taken 55 seconds apart total.
Jonah is happier, though, now that he's mobile and has access to toys and trouble.
My mom bought Scott a name train. It is so cute I wanted to put it in his room for decoration, but he wants to play with it.
Ganging up on Amanda.
My mom babysat while we went to a lovely wedding. It was fun visiting with friends kid-free.
Scott loves his "oo see oda" tent. Took a while for me to figure that one out--you seek Yoda. He played with it all day on May the 4th then I collapsed it until the next time I'm feeling energetic.
Jonah has begun the mischief making.
His hair is longer on the sides and back and it flips out like little wings.
So, so sad. And tired.
Scott was helping me cook and helped himself to a bite of butter.
Playing with the train table at the baby store.
I started up park day in our ward/neighborhood. Scott loves the park, but I get bored in five minutes if I'm by myself, so these group park days are win-wins.
John gave me See's candy for Mother's Day. Scott brought it to me, watched me open it, then cried that I wouldn't give him any. I worked too hard for that candy to give it to someone who likes m&ms just as much.
Scott discovered piggy-back rides.
When I have them at the park alone, I like having them contained in the swings, but then Scott doesn't get his energy out. I put Jonah in, though, so he can't eat tanbark.
Took it up a notch--now he wants a piggy back ride while John shoots hoops.
He says almost when you miss and yay or hoohoo when you make it.

The Frozen characters were at the Santana Row Mommy & Me this month, so we went to meet them. It was the first time in probably his whole life that Scott asked to get in the stroller. A golf club booth gave him a ball cup that calmed him down after that fright.
After reading a Pooh Bear book, Scott found the Duplo Tigger and collected other Winnie the Pooh friends to play together. It still amazes me when little kids make connections like that.
He cried for me at night and I gave him the stuffed Tigger. Then he settled down and snuggled him. I was hoping Tigger would replace me at night now, but it was a one time deal.
After several days of sleeping with Tigger, Scott wanted nothing to do with it at night, probably because he associates it with sleeping now. He's too clever sometimes.
