Golfing

We had a bogo for mini golf and Mondays are special "family night" pricing, so we went for our family home evening.
 Scott checking out the course.
He really loved the golf balls.
Helping John's ball find the hole. Little cheaters.
 A Scott-sized house.
Of course he wanted to play in the water.
The rest of the night Scott spent in the pack on John's back. He seemed to enjoy watching from there.
 I was there, too.
John (and his ball-moving assistant) won. He also beat me at bowling on our date a few weeks ago. I need to find something we can do where I'm a shoo-in for our next outing.

Disneyland

The night after California Adventure a changling replaced Scott. He woke up a lot at night whining and was not his chipper self in the morning.
We stopped at Downtown Disney on our way to the park and John and Karen bought a (family size) bag of beignets (each).
Scott ate a pouch of pureed food, but gave his beignet bite to the birds. I knew something was up when he didn't shove everything in his mouth because he always wakes up with a fierce hunger.
After he chewed his baby teething ring I felt his gums and sure enough, four more lumps were swelling. 20 minutes after a dose of Tylenol, happy Scott started coming back around.
He LOVED the train. He laughs when someone says "choo choo" or "achoo," like a fake sneeze.
We checked out Toon Town, where Grandma electrocuted herself to make Scott laugh. She said she'd do anything for her grandkids.
Driving the car. Scott liked the storybook-type rides where he could steer. I think it reminded him of his cozy coupe.
Climbing through a window. He sticks his tongue out when he's hard at work.
The Innoventions had a new Ironman section, so we went through to check it out.
It was still a little boring in my opinion, but Scott liked exploring.
Unfortunately Splash was the only mountain ride open and it was too overcast to be wet. We did Astro Blasters twice, though. Scott turned our buggy while John and I blasted. It added a fun twist to the ride to not know which direction you'd spin at a one-year-old's whim.
Despite a short nap on Pirates, Scott was tired by the end of the day. I was pretty achey, too, so after John and his parents rode Indiana Jones one last time we called it a night.
We drove down to visit Jaime and spent the next morning with them before heading home.
Scott liked their cat. But not as much as all of their electronics and cords.
John and Scott played in their huge yard, Jonathan made us his famous breakfast burritos, we toured Jaime's new shop, then hit the road.
Scott slept four hours on the drive home and would've kept going but we stopped for dinner. When we arrived at home, he squealed and clapped, going from slide to car to toy cubbies like he couldn't decide what to play first. It was nice to get away and a fun trip, but I think we were all happy to be back home again.

California Adventure

John asked me what I wanted to do for my birthday and I asked him what my options were. He replied anything I wanted and I said Disneyland. So we packed up the car and drove down after John came home from work.
Scott babbled to himself, napped, and snacked the whole drive. He slept well in the hotel and was an angel all day. I'm not even bragging, I'm truthfully reporting his perfect behavior.
We checked out the new Radiator Springs, which was cool. The Cars racing ride was unexpectedly fun.
Scott does not love his Mickey ears. He does love reaching his hand out to touch things.
When I saw Mickey out with only a few people waiting I wanted a family picture, so we stood in line for one.
Scott found a young lady to flirt with. He makes friends very easily.
He was unsure of Mickey until he let Scott touch his nose. You can see him grabbing Mickey's mouth in the picture. He's very into faces lately.
After lots of rides we had a Ghirardelli sundae. They replaced the Mission tortilla factory, which was sad, but if they had to take it out at least they put ice cream in its place.
While digesting and coming down from a sugar high, we went through the animation studio.
It was pretty empty in there, unlike the rest of the park, so we let Scott out to play.
Carpet means crawling around--his favorite--and he started walking all over the place.
John let Scott touch the screen to find his character match and he chose the evil path.
 Helping Grandma pick her character.
Karen sat him in this chair and waved at him.
I took a video because he looked like a little prince waving to his people.
We stayed to watch the World of Color show, which was absolutely amazing. I've been so excited to see it since we came in 2010 and saw them working on it, but it was even better than my high expectations. Then we headed back to the hotel and crashed.

Tool Bench

Since I won't be buying a Pottery Barn Kids tea set or doll house any time soon, I was really excited to find this floor model for sale.
We'd already bought Scott some toy tools and pulled them out for him to try.
 He loves them.
Then I picked up a cheap tool box to complete the set (mostly because I can latch it and he can't spread the toys around the house without me opening it first.)
Now John wants a work bench and tool box.

Stepping

Scott decided he wanted to stay up late last Saturday night, so he started showing off with some steps.
A week later, he has gotten a little braver and just gets up without being prompted.
This was Saturday's conference session and by Sunday he was going across the room without help. He still prefers crawling, though, and I'm okay with that.

Easter

The Friday afternoon before Easter we went to an egg hunt with some families in our ward. We each brought a dozen filled eggs per child, hid them, then the kids found them.
Scott found this Darth Vader egg and loved it. He became disinterested in egg hunting after that.
Some of the kids found the extras and Scott was interested in their piles.
I wish I hadn't focused on someone's hair instead of Scott because his excitement was over the top.
The kids went through and picked their 12 based on candy preference and we picked 11 from their reject pile to take home. Luckily all Scott cared about was the plastic egg.
Easter morning Scott found his basket magically refilled with some of his favorite things.
 He was really sleepy.
He found a puzzle and Teddy Grahams, but preferred the bucket and shovel. He loves playing with them and the tanbark at the park.
My parents and sister came over for Easter brunch. We had cinnamon rolls, French toast with fat sauce, scrambled eggs, ham, fruit and freshly squeezed orange juice from our tree.
Scott liked all the food.
Then we quickly changed for church. Scott's shoes stayed on about 15 seconds.
He was ready to nap and started whining to get down. He held this "rattle" that my dad brought to cheer him up. This was the best we took.
Then Scott fell asleep on the way to church and stayed conked on my lap through sacrament meeting. Easter can be so exhausting when you're one.
We look pretty much the same as last year, but I'm not sure what happened to that tiny baby.
