June II

Jane in her swimsuit and boots, dropping books off at the library.
Beautiful baby in not her bed.
Jane was mesmerized by the music from the ice cream truck.
So the kids had their first ice cream truck treat. Jane picked a strawberry bar.
Perry went for the biggest one, an ice cream sandwich.
Scott and Jonah chose together so they could try each others.
And already made plans for what to get next time.
All that fun tuckered her out.
Aunt Wendy gave the kids a new villainous game and it's been used in full force every day.
Getting some snuggles in where I can. I never know if it will be the last time I rock one of my babies to sleep.
She's growing up so fast. Taking her pacifier for a walk.
"Reading" some board books she's memorized.
She loooooves being read to.
Chipmunk cheeks.
Cleaning up her seat after eating.
She didn't think we could see her.
There she is!
John finished the shelves and the brackets I ordered came in, then we put them up in the boys' room. They're perfect for displaying Lego creations and keeping them safe from small hands.
Hanging out with Roxy aka kitty cat.
When she doesn't want a bow or hair tie.
Having a lil milkshake.
The helper gets to lick the spoon.
Jane helps herself anyway, but it's nice to sample with permission sometimes.

Lake Tahoe I

Our family trip to Tahoe was postponed a year, but worth the wait.
My aunt rented a big house for us to stay in together.
Jane warmed up to her better than I expected.
My brother's family came and we got some good cousin time.
Ced was an expert disc golfer.
The boys tried it out and Jonah loved it.
Jane was more interested in the dandelions. They were giant.
She was also a bit of a cheat.
It was a beautiful park.
Six hot, tired cousins.
Back at the house all bathed and watching a show in my bed. I love having a tv in the bedroom, but luckily our room at home is too tiny because I would stay up too late if we had one. It's fun when we travel, though.
The beach situation was tricky because you have to live there to access some beaches and the others are first come, first served.
But we went nice and early and got a big spot to play next to the lake.
Scott brought his expert digging skills.
Perry, Jonah, and Cedric played in the water
Jane walked right in to go after John, who didn't see her. Luckily someone next to us grabbed her and it was a good reminder to keep a constant watch on her.
Gave me a huge scare.
She stuck to the sand for a while after that, thankfully.
Mermaid tail to match her mermaid swim shirt.
Jess was biking with her brother while we were at the beach and called to say she was in an accident and Rick left with Malcolm to go help her.
So we had Cedric for the rest of the day.
I took everyone but John and Scott home, then went back for them since we were down a car. They had started walking back toward me and got some good exercise.
We chilled most of the rest of the day. The house did not have the amenities that the rental we were going to get the year before did, so we had some extra screen time.
Which was relaxing.
Otherwise there was mischief from this one
and some board games and reading for the boys. Rick and Malcolm came home. Jess had a broken arm, but was staying at the hospital to get surgery the next day.
In the morning, we went for another hike before it got too warm.
Perry my silly sweetie.
Amanda joined us and helped corral children all the way to the waterfall.
"We made it!"
The cool mist felt amazing.
Then it was back home for more food and playing and video games.
Jane got her backpack, shoes, and hat on, so she was ready to go.
We took the kids to the park nearby to get some energy out.
Everything's prettier with giant trees all around.
They were very wild at the park, so thankfully there weren't many other people around.
After dinner we went back to the lake just to walk around the lookout at sunset.
It was lovely.
The kids loved climbing around on the rocks.

I did not love watching them.
Jane trying to copy.
Perry wanted a picture of just him.
Poor attempt at a family shot.
A few more minutes before our parking time was up.
Soaking in the view.
Back at the house with Mal. He and Jane were best frenemies.
Jess made it home. Doing good.
Actually she was doing better later when they gave her the correct dose of medicine, but she was a trooper the whole time.
