Cousin Visit

Were you going to finish that?
Cousin movie time.
So many boys
and one little girl.

So sweet.

I tried to get Malcolm in the picture, but he had other ideas.
Jonah loves babies.

The big baby checking out the little baby.
Amanda and Mal
Jonah and Malcolm. He's excited for Jane to get bigger and more interactive.

The boys had dentist appointments, so we were just playing until then.
Malcolm is a good wrestler baby.
Jessica and Jane
All that playing worked up an appetite
Then we went up to the park with a big splash pad.

Running around, exploring, making music.
They played on the playground, but the water was too cold for most of them to want to play in it.

Perry ran through.
And later, Jonah.
Jane had a little nap and some lunch.
The cold water did not deter Malcolm.
Smiley boy was so close to walking.

Ced joined in for a bit, but Scott could not be convinced.
We stopped on the way home for some ice cream.
It was discount scoop day, so they each got to pick their own, which they love.
So many happy kids.
Malcolm napped through the treat, but was ready for more baby investigating when we got home.
Perhaps a bit too much attention was on the littler baby

He'll fix that.
It was a quick visit, but we loved having them come stay!

Jane's First Bath

We were excited when Jane's umbilical cord fell off so she could get a proper bath, especially Perry. I think he thought she could come play in the tubby with him now.
She wasn't bothered, but didn't love it either.
She did like the warm water poured on her head.
And she loved sucking her wet hand.
Tiny floof hair.
So fresh and fluffy.
It was a little curly while it was wet. I'm curious what it will be as she gets older.
Then I spent the rest of the night smelling her.
(First bath: July 29)

Monterey with Rick and Jess

My brother and his family came to see us on their summer vacation. They house sat for our neighbors who also have aquarium guest passes, so we all went there the first day.
Amanda took our boys while John and I went on a lunch date to an il vecchio, Italian restaurant I've been wanting to try. It was so good. I had a house salad and pesto sandwich and John had the carbonara and we shared the mascarpone cake. We want to try the homemade pasta dinner and gelato next time. And Wednesday pizza night.
Jane was a great little tag along.
Then we fed and changed her while they were all still in the aquarium.
Such a great view.
Naturally, we went to Ghirardelli for a sundae.
Then played at the beach.
Cedric was entertaining to watch

They took turns getting buried.

Uncle Ricky holding the little nugget.

Jonah loved playing with Malcolm. He loves him some baby.

Malcolm wanted to see the baby, too.

He also decided to take a step on the uneven sand like a big boy.
Sleeping to the sound of ocean waves.
It was a long day out, but we all loved it.
I think we have another Monterey fan.
