Lighthouse Point

Our original plan, Natural Bridges, was full, so we went down the road to a new place, Lighthouse Point.
It was an off leash beach, so we saw lots and lots and lots of doggies.
Jane loves dogs, but only from a distance or at her own pace with a quiet, still dog. So we had some snacktime together under the umbrella when the dogs got to be too much for her.
They mostly played with each other and kept their space from the boys.
Jonah got wet, shocking noone.
He loves it.
Added a coating of sand for fun.
Scott, the sand creation mastermind and Perry, his minion.
Eventually John coaxed Jane back out to the water/dog zone.
A big wave came in and he had to rescue her and I got this great/terrified shot.
Nobody wanted to leave, so we promised them Marianne's on the way home.
Every picture has a great Perry pose.
His excitement really shows.
Jane had some of ours and she liked it, but isn't ice cream crazy. Such a strange being.
More for us, and less stickiness to clean before driving home.

Coyote Valley Hike

We went back to the Calero area, but tried a shorter hike in cooler weather.
Lots of windy trails and nobody around.
Scott our future cross country star ran ahead to a place we'd point out, then wait for us to pick the next spot. Sometimes he'd run back to us again, so he may have done the trail 2-3 times.
We kept Jane contained as long as she could handle it.
She either stops or runs, so it's not great for group hiking.
She copies the running from her brother, who just flies on these trails.
It actually helped her go faster.
Then we found a peeing cow.
Reluctantly holding hands on a steeper section.
Trying to make friends with the cows.
By the end, I was running ahead with the boys and John was walking the dawdler.
She caught up at the end and wanted to climb up on the railing with Perry.
So flexible and strong.
Not sure she wanted up there after all.

Some brothers to the rescue.
With an early start and enough snacks, it was a great outing, even with our new little hiker insisting on getting out of the carrier for most of it.

Valentine's Day 2021

My little Valentine
So deceptively sweet looking
With her true love; Grogu
We found cupid in the backyard
Jonah wanted a picture with Jane, but she was done sitting.
The boys love Jane and she loves cheese.
Our traditional, annual crab dinner
John made this beauty
Jane looked like she was reeeeeally enjoying the crab.
She was actually falling asleep.
We spent a few weeks of preschool time crafting and practicing writing to make Valentine's cards.

Perry all dressed up in his heart pjs for the occasion. He kept mixing up the holidays and calling these his Easter pajamas.

Each night all week we heart attacked a friend or neighbor's door.
The kids thought the sneakiness of it was so fun.
Scott and Jonah didn't want to make hearts, but after the first night they kept wanting to make more and more.
Our post heart outing hot chocolate.
Jane trying it with a spoon,

then moving onto faster methods.
And some cute bums brushing their teeth together.

SIP Week 48: Feb 7-13

Scott got an expander in January to make room for his baby teeth to come in. I turned it for 3 weeks and it made a nice, big gap. Then we just had to wait for them to settle into place.

Reading in bed, his favorite.
Such a big girl in her jeans and drinking my water bottle.
And napping in my bed.
Wheee
Climbing the cabinets
to steal an apple
Scott practicing archery in the backyard
She's determined to do everything herself.
And she usually can.
All that independence tuckered her out.
She needs a little more strength before she can open the fridge.
She wanted these shoes on, but they don't fit over her feetie pajamas
It didn't stop her from trying, though.
Perry's domino creation.
A made bed is the best for jumping
The cutest rapscallion I ever did see.
Jane and Grogu helping John work
Glasses on, paci in.

Ready for bed, John turns on a show
And like magic, she's out. The only problem with this method, besides setting horrible habits for the future, is John frequently falls asleep, too.
I was doing an Exits game with Perry for some snuggle time, and soon had everyone on me, watching.
Jonah is very cautious with Jane's antics.
We prefer she stay in the baby playground area.
She can still put her climbing skills to good use there.
We learned that Jane's mouth is the size of one donette.
And she is a fan of them.
It doesn't matter if they're old, too-small baby shoes, or big shoes that belong to other family members, when Jane sees shoes, she must try them on.
Perry getting the longest Robot Turtles sequence known to man ready for me to play.
So proud of his bed making.
We introduced Jane to a Porg toy, which she liked until it moved and made noise. She is NOT a fan of animatronics.
Once we turned it off, she warmed up to it.
John mastered pizza crust and this is my favorite combo, with basalmic vinegar as sauce. Luckily the kids don't really like it, so we get it to ourselves.
While in isolation, Jane had to get creative to build her immune system this year.
And learn to self entertain a bit more.
Going on a walk!
Tormenting a kitty cat.
Basking in the sunny, winter day
Little peanut
Soccer practice in her slippers. Actually, Perry's slippers.
See the aforementioned note about everyone else's shoes.
