Utah I: Saturday, Sunday, Monday

Karen convinced me to join her on her next Utah trip. I wanted to go to conference and had several other things on my list to try, so we packed in as many as we could. We drove over night and arrived groggily Saturday morning. We had breakfast with family at Waffle Love, then went to a new aquarium.
Scott loved the "fishies." This walk-through tube was cool, but the shark was so tiny. It's hard to match the Monterey Bay aquarium, but they made an earnest effort.
Scott slept pretty well on the drive out, so he was a bundle of energy. They played under the stairs for a while before we went to Cafe Rio then went back to our hotel to swim until Scott was tired.
On Sunday, Terri and the gang watched the boys while we took Karen and Joseph to conference.
It was much better in person and I enjoyed seeing the huge conference center.
We went back to Provo to get Scott and Jonah. Then we walked up the trail to the Y on the mountain.
Scott ran the first half.
Then he sat down and cried and I carried him a little further.
It started to sprinkle, it was getting dark and we were getting hungry, so we called it good.
We got close enough to the Y to cross it off my list then we walked back down and went to Grandma's for a delicious dinner of roast and potatoes that Russ made.
I went to Sarah's for a hair cut and came back to wrestle the boys to bed. Monday morning we met up with Julie at Thanksgiving Point.
We left Scott's jacket at Grandma's, so he borrowed one from Julie's goodwill bag in the trunk.
Then she let him drive. Seriously, he was steering. She is nuts.
She is also a very fun aunt.
Scott loved the fishies.
Julie and Scott fed them koi food and Olivia fed them her cute headband.
The two of them liked getting down and running around.
Although Scott was definitely the more rambunctious of the two.
We drove the golf cart all over and stopped in this lovely area to play for a while.

John rolled down the hill with Scott.
He loved it.
Then we found a secret garden.

Then more wild driving. We only took out one bush. Eventually a guy on a segway tracked us down and told us our time was up.
We went back south and John got a hair cut. Then we had family pictures taken in Provo Canyon, which is another gorge-ous place.
The Fergusons invited us over for dinner. Kelly was my YW leader and Travis was John's co-worker. They're both good friends and it was fun to catch up with them.
Jonah practiced pulling himself up and around their furniture and Scott practiced fake crying when the dogs licked him.
It's hard going someplace with so many friends and family members because you run out of time to visit with everyone and you miss them all over again when you have to leave.

  2. "Gorge-ous" places...I see what you did there. You are funny! Nothing can ever beat Thanksgiving Point in a golf cart with Julie. She's crazy fun. I had a great time at conference. Loved all the crazy people outside shouting their silly "anti" stuff. Made for a memorable event.
