December I

These were actually the end of November, but Christmas-related. Putting up ornaments.
Scott found the sled he painted in a Home Depot workshop last year in a Christmas tub. He loved seeing something he made when he was two and with his name on it.
We took the light rail downtown to Christmas in the Park.
It was unusually cold, which meant not too busy.
Which was nice because the boys both wanted to take a picture with each of the photo ops,
they had a little more freedom to run around (Jonah was excited to find Snoopy)
and we made it in to meet Santa without much waiting.
Jonah wasn't especially thrilled to see Santa and Scott was really hesitant, so we did a family picture.
Then we all went to warm up with some hot chocoalte.
The boys are addicted to their "apple" game (a Busytown eye found it) and they can mostly play it by themselves now.
Jonah giving his baby a shoulder ride.
Holding hands to cross the street.
We went with our friends to the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
Jonah liked watching the penguins. Scott pretended to be one.
The boys found the wave tunnel hilarious.

Scott pointing out all the fish he knew--Nemo, Dory, even P. Sherman (an employee scuba diving).
We also stopped at Dennis the Menace Park.
The boys went down the sun slide that I enjoyed growing up.
Jonah always crashes on the drive home from church.
While Scott was at preschool, Jonah asked me for lunch. He said he wanted yogurt, applesauce and water. Then he set the table for his feast.
My mom and I went to Palo Alto one night to finish some Christmas shopping and get dinner.
We were trying to help Jonah pick out a doll, but he wanted all of them. He seemed most attached to the little black baby, but ultimately decided on the white one like Scott has (my old doll).
Park day has turned into construction watching day.
The boys decorated a cookie at our ward Christmas party.
Scott helped me bake during Jonah's nap. He copied each step.
Jonah fell asleep in the car like this.
The boys like to bring in oranges from the backyard for a snack. Jonah eats his with a fork.
They found Santa at Home Depot.
John made a princess cake for our anniversary and made a little one with the extra ingredients. It was so good. I forget every year just how good they are. Totally worth all the work. Especially because John does it all.
Jonah said he couldn't go to bed because he had to fight the bad guys.
Assuming the fighting position.
