February I

John showing the boys a ladybug he found.
Scott wanted to hold it.
Scott had his very own frozen yogurt for the first time on free Yogurtland day. He picked strawberry yogurt with fresh strawberries.
We went to visit John at work so Jonah could share his.
John read all 16 of the Dr. Seuss board books, then Scott counted them to make sure.
Cash is a toy hoarder. He cracks me up.
I thought Jonah caught his fever from Scott, but then he came down with it the next week (again?).
I was hoping watching a show while in a nest on the floor would make him fall asleep, but no luck.
He just rested all day and as he was getting better, he broke out into a rash all over.
Jonah was apparently ready to get out of the house, so he climbed in the stroller and called for me.
Jonah had so many baths this day, we switched back to the sink for convenience.
While homebound, I didn't get my much needed exercise, so the boys helped me with some yoga/pilates videos from the library. (I actually hated all of them. Does anyone have a recommendation for one that's faster-paced? We ended up just using youtube)
Jonah found my boots.
Jonah's favorite game is Boo! He just says it all the time and laughs like he surprised/scared us.
Scott was excited about having his own bagel sandwich. He keeps asking for "a big one" of everything, which means whole and not shared.
Jonah saw the little pillow on the floor, ran over and had a little rest on it. He's such a snuggle bug.
Toddler two-handed eating is a high compliment to the chef.
Playing peek-a-boo with pillows. Cash and Scott actually played. Jonah is still catching on.
We also played "tunnel", ring around the rosy,
and duck-duck-goose, which is more like chase each other in a circle.
I have the big boys play games so I can sit and hold (and smell) the sleeping baby.
After Indy goes home, jealous Jonah needs some babying.
Saying goodbye to John in the morning. Jonah's been especially sad about his departures lately.
We have found a show Jonah will sit and watch for several minute stretches of time. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse! Ever since Disneyland, he's been obsessed with Mickey and Minnie. More than once he's gotten to watch "mou"when he wakes up before seven. Don't tell Scott.
Reading the upside-down book at the library with a missing shoe.
I let the boys each pick a book to bring home for the first time.
The first day, Scott lost his choo-choo book and Jonah ate a hole through the back of his Mickey book. We will stick to just reading library books at the library for a while.
Jonah was playing in the backyard and I looked up and he was gone. I panicked for a second until I found him in the bike carrier.
Looking so big at the park. We spent a lot of time outdoors after the boys we feeling better to wean them back off the tv, juice and snacks.
He thought he could get away with skipping his nap.
The rain made the backyard into an instant jungle of weeds.
Jonah took care of it for us.
It's a small mower for such a big lawn, but he had nothing else he had to do that day.
Jonah loves playing outside and will bring me his shoes periodically to let me know he's ready and willing to go in the backyard.

January II

Our winter was mild and short this year. By the end of January, we were at the park with light jackets. Scott loves finding squirrels.
One of the boys I babysit, Cash, is even more obsessed with garbage trucks than Scott. They stopped playing and watched this one make its rounds around the park.
We took Scott to see the BYU Young Ambassadors when they came downtown. It was a fun performance and Scott was well-behaved.
Scott fills his whole circle track with trains.
A neighbor gave us another Lightning McQueen hat, so now they match.
Jonah is so happy to be like his big brother.
After a long nap, Jonah woke up warm and whiny like Scott had been at Disneyland earlier in the week. I gave him some watered down juice and we went for a walk to the grocery store. While there, he had a seizure and I wasn't sure he was getting enough oxygen, so I had someone call 911. It was completely terrifying, but the firemen came and helped. We had him checked out by the doctor and he was fine, he's just prone to seizures when his temperature changes quickly, even by a small amount.
Over the next few days, Jonah was coddled with popsicles and co-sleeping.

Disneyland IV

After riding a few rides, we took a raft to see Tom Sawyer Island.
They loved the ride over.
Unprompted Jonah loves are the best.
Jonah was a little apprehensive about the dark caves
then this head popped up and startled all of us.
View of Frontierland
The boys like the interactive parts, like pumping water. And by boys I mean Scott and John.
It was a really cool place--pretty secluded and we just had free range to explore.
Jonah tried to get this cannon ball out of the wall.
Scott was so brave. He hadn't eaten very much at breakfast, which is rare for him. Then after a few rides in the morning, he felt warm and was lethargic. I thought he had a fever, but was also just tired from getting less sleep than usual and playing hard all day, every day. After some juice and rest in the stroller, he was still calmer and quieter than usual, but acting more himself. He liked walking around the island.
They found the treasure!
Jonah just took a swim in it.
They turned up some more treasure.
Then after a few bridge crossings (Scott's favorite), we headed back over the water.
We went on some low-key rides, but it started really pouring rain, so we headed back to the hotel before dinner. It worked out really well because John wanted to try out the Rosco's chicken and waffles across the street (surprisingly delicious) and I wanted Scott to get to bed early so he'd get some proper rest. My mom stayed with the boys while we got dinner and went in the hotel jacuzzi.
The next morning, Scott ate more breakfast (although less than his normally large amount) and was in great spirits. He let Donald hug him!
Donald was just waiting for us! John and Jonah were getting fast passes.
We went on our favorite rides, then we saw Woody.
We went to go on the ferris wheel and saw him being switched out by Buzz! Scott actually wanted to go and we went back over to meet him.
Scott warmed up over the trip to meeting characters and going on rides. I was really proud of him. Jonah was his usual social self and liked talking to everyone.
We took my mom out to lunch at the Wine Country Trattoria for her birthday.
It was fancier, but still comfortable enough to bring kids. The food overall was good, except John's pasta dish was amazing. Then they brought my mom this delious Mickey cake with raspberry sauce that made the whole experience worth repeating. SO good!
It was very small to share, so we supplemented with a Ghirardelli sundae.
We rode our last rides and went to pick up our free photo.
We had one taken with the whole group and one with just our family.
We hit the road a little early to make better time in traffic and get home at a reasonable hour for work the next day. Other than Jonah screaming himself to sleep the first hour, they ride went smoothly. It was an amazing trip and we can't wait to go back before Jonah turns 3!
