Alan's Birthday

Alan's birthday was last Thursday and since Karen was at girl's camp we invited him over for dinner.
We had katsu don then he opened his gifts. Scott grabbed the wrapping paper and ran it over to the recycling bin. He's very helpful about throwing (what he thinks is) trash away.
We gave him a silicone mini muffin pan with the selfish hope that those mini pecan shortbreads will be easier for him to make.
Joseph made creme brulee for dessert.
We sang and he blew out his candle before the fan could.
We hope you had a happy birthday Alan and we're glad we could celebrate it with you.

  1. Silicone mini muffin pan?! Genius idea! Those pecan guys are a beast to get out of the pan. I'm glad Scott is such a helpful trash picker-upper.

  2. Thank you for the enjoyable birthday celebration. Dinner was delicious and the silicone muffin pan is cool. I have not yet had a chance to use it, but hope to make some mini pecan shortbread pies soon.

  3. Woah! Nice post! We also converted our house into a party venue this time on my husband’s birthday. We chilled at home, all his friends came over. I cooked and even baked his favorite chocolate cake. It was a great time, just like I can see in this post. I am sure you had fun!
