Apple Picking

Our air was predicted to have a clear morning, so we headed to Gizdich ranch, where it had been consistently better than at home.
Jane set right to work finding an apple.
Her little skirt was very impractical, but I wanted to use her apple tights.

It didn't impede her fun.

Jonah made a plan to try one of each of the three varieties available, then we'd pick those to take home. He loves organizing us.
The sun was especially bright after many weeks indoors.
We eventually filled a bag and headed down to Moss Landing to have lunch from Phil's, which we've been wanting to try.
John went and ordered while I fed the kids packed lunch in the car. Then we enjoyed our food while the kids played at the beach for a few minutes.
It was more crowded than we'd like, we didn't bring changes of clothes or sunscreen, and the air was getting smoky again, so we kept it short.
Jane warmed up to the idea.
She observed first before joining in.
And they all had a blast.
I promised them ice cream to get them away from the ocean and we stopped at Foster's Freeze, which is by our house but we'd never taken them.

Jonah declared it "the greatest Saturday ever!!!"
