Presidents Day at Natural Bridges

We decided to use John's day off for a family outing.
We went to Natural Bridges State Beach and walked a nice trail to see the monarchs.
Then we saw poison oak and stuck to the wooden path.
Scott liked the butterflies for a second, then wanted to run around the bridges.
Jonah just enjoyed being outdoors with his people.
We walked down to the beach. The boys always want to walk on ledges or curbs.
Aah the beach.
Jonah dug right in, Scott took a minute to warm up,
but soon they were playing together.
Then Jonah discovered the water!
He wanted right in.
Scott was glued to my leg and did not want to touch the water.
In his defense, it is really cold water. Didn't stop Jonah . . .
until he sat down in it.
Then we had two sad boys.
Luckily, there was a little river of water by the rocks that was more toddler-friendly.
Jonah loved it.
The boys played together for a while.

Jonah licked the sandy salt water off his face.

He loved it.
Scott tends to keep cleaner.
Jonah's saggy wet bottom.
I love that they have each other.
John holding a nakie Jonah. Since it was crowded, we didn't sit near the "natural bridge", but I wanted a picture with it. I love this beach.
We climbed up the rocks to see some tide pools.
I was there!
Soooo many mussels.
John pointed out some sea anemones and other fun creatures for us.
Then Jonah was snuggly/tired.
We walked back to the van and stopped for some by-the-slice pizza in town.
On the drive home, we stopped in Los Gatos and ran some errands together. It was a great day. Outings are getting easier as the boys get older and we're looking forward to lots more this summer.
