Natural Bridges Beach

John had also never played at the beach with Scott.
They had a blast.
The weather was perfect--it was warm with a breeze, hot sand and cold water.
Scott didn't mind the water temperature and loved running from the waves with John.
He was very interested in the sand's texture on his feet.
Last time I took him to the beach it was cold and windy, so he only wanted to snuggle with me.
This time he played in the water and sand nonstop.
When they were hot again, they went back in the water.
I took pictures
and Jonah napped.
Then it was time for sand castles
and hole digging.
Scott loved "splatting" the castles John built for him.

Once again we tuckered Scott right out and he slept on the drive home.

Library & Ainsley House

We went to the library a few times this week for various kid activities and just to cool off. I took some pictures on my phone.

We went to reading time at the Campbell library and went next door to the Ainsley House.
It wasn't open for tours that day, but we walked around the grounds.
Scott found two water fountains--one to drink from and one to play in.
It looks really nice and we'd like to tour the inside sometime, but probably without the boys.

Swim Fun

We went to the Tingey's pool one hot afternoon.
John and Scott played in the water while Jonah and I relaxed.
Scott and Anna are taller now and more stable walking on their own in the baby pool.
Scott went under a few times and popped back up laughing.
He really likes the water.
He splashes himself

and loves being thrown.
We may need to look into getting a pool membership.

Emma Prusch Farm Park

Scott and I took John to explore the farm park we've enjoyed visiting this summer.
They ran around trying everything out. Scott hadn't explored the playground before because it's usually hot and crowded, but it was perfect this time.
I played with Jonah.
He was very alert
and concerned about the loud animal sounds.
Scott was much braver visiting the bigger animals with his dad around.
John had the sheep chatting up a storm
Scott climbed up to talk to them

Jonah was apparently bored.
He kept yawning
After a short rest in the shade and some water Scott was ready to run around some more.
We walked the trail on the outer rim of the farm and saw all of the trees and crops they grow.
This windmill used to pump the well water for the farm. Now it's just decor.
Scott would have played all day, but he fell asleep in the car before we were even out of the parking lot.

Bay Area Discovery Museum

Since I've been feeling well, Scott has a lot of energy and John had time off, we decided to try and do some fun things that John doesn't usually get to do with us during the day. First up was the museum in Sausalito where we had free tickets through our library. Both boys slept the whole drive then Scott woke up ready to play.
Our first stop was the tot room, which only allows shorties and adults inside to play. This water bed pond made Scott nervous at first.
After I held his hands for a few jumps that was the end of the nerves. All subsequent pictures were blurry with delight.
Crawling through carpeted tunnels.
John poked his head through one of the holes, which Scott found hilarious.
Climbing the play structure. Everything was soft and not too high which was much easier on me than outdoor playgrounds.
Splashing in the river
There were also several outdoor play places. This one was shaded and empty, so I fed Jonah while Scott and John explored.
Another tunnel. He loves those things.
He's very cautious on steps. The ground was slightly padded and the rocks were soft, though, so I was anxiety-free.
Scott found a little bench to sit on
and a rodent to ride
Scott spent a good portion of time playing with other kids in the boats and trains room.

Then he found the balls in the foam structure building area and played fetch with himself for a while.
There were other playgrounds and rooms with things like art, but after playing all morning we were ready for lunch and a nap.
We took a quick self-timer family picture in the parking lot before heading home. Scott ate his lunch on the drive back and Jonah slept the whole way again. It was a great day and encouraged us to venture out again.
