We went with Wendy to Philadelphia for a quick day trip.
It was a beautiful day and Scott was absolutely perfect the whole time.
We started with the Federal Reserve, then had a cheesesteak. Scott had a side of fingers.
We took a quick tour of Christ Church, including a garden where some famous people are buried.
We walked back to take the tour of Independence Hall.
Scott played with his ticket to pass the time.
All of the historical sites are in the same national park and you just pick up a free ticket at the visitor's center.
While we waited for our tour time, we took pictures
and saw drafts of some important documents, including the Articles of Confederation and the Constitution.
Scott chewed away the time.
And he and Wendy played with his feet.
I thought we had an entertaining tour guide,
but he bored Scott to sleep.
I believe this is Thomas Jefferson's spot and the brown chair in back is George Washington's sun chair.
We then went to Congress Hall and Scott woke up happy and ready to learn.
Senate's room
Clock tower
Next we waited in line for the Liberty Bell. Scott brushed up on his history and practiced reading upside down.
I toured the city with friends a few years ago, but it was all new for John, Wendy, and Scott. John thought the bell was smaller than he anticipated, but much thicker.
We walked over to the small LOVE statue.
It was pretty warm and Scott enjoyed dipping his feet in the cool fountain.
My friend, Angela, came to see us on her way home from work.
The pool floor says "no swimming," which was obviously neither followed nor enforced. Kids came in swim suits with floaties.
We walked back through the Your Move exhibit, which has life-sized game pieces.
Scott slept right through the massive dominoes.
We passed Hard Rock on our way back to the car.
We love sight-seeing and had a fun time in Philadelphia.
