Florida Trip

Our flight out was changed from Saturday morning to a Friday redeye, then San Francisco had storms and our flight to LA was delayed enough that we would miss our connection to Orlando Friday night. John talked to the lady at SFO and she fit us on a later flight to Miami instead. It was also delayed a few hours, so we had some time to kill.
We explored the airport, which has a few kid play places.
We let Scott crawl around to his heart's content hoping to wear him out before the long trip. It worked like a charm and he slept the whole five hours there.
We met our friends Katie and Ricky for lunch when we landed. Believe it or not, this is the least drowsy-looking picture of me. We're glad they were able and willing to drive out to see us for a bit.
We walked through Downtown Disney, which has a LEGO store and massive sculptures around it. John and my aunt thought this was Yoda . . . with Snow White. Luckily we had a week of Disney refreshing ahead of us.
Since we stayed in a Disney hotel, they have free shuttles between all the parks. We took the "motor coach," as they call it, to Animal Kingdom. This cool tree was at the entrance.
We saw the animals in the Asia section. It was like a giant, happy zoo.
Scott liked the animals.
Then he went on his first ride. He seemed fascinated with rides from the outside, probably because of the lights, colors, noise, etc. going on.
On the rides he mostly looked curious or seemed confused.
When my Aunt Wendy landed, we took the monorail over to Magic Kingdom.
John's favorite ride in all the World. I kid you not.
Scott likes any ride that includes a meal.
Magic Kingdom is the most like Disneyland, which is to say the most magical.
At the beginning of the "it's a small world" ride:
By the end:
Scott perked back up in time to see me double John's score on the Astro Blasters ride.
We went back to the hotel a little early to get rested up for the next day.
John and Scott in the Mickey jams I hid in their suitcases.
Scott swims in his since the smallest size was a 2/3t, but I think it makes them even cuter.
