31 Weeks

Scott had a very productive week.
When it was hot I sometimes put him down for naps in just a diaper until I heard velcro and he lost nakie nap privileges. Now it seems he's figuring his way out of jams as well.
Scott tried some new foods and liked all of them.
He chewed on his hand all week and was extra snuggly.
Then his second tooth broke through on Friday.
He put it to good use right away.
He thought sticking his toes through the blanket was his funniest accomplishment yet.
Chewing John's hair was fun until he bit John's ear. Then it was extra fun.
He dived off of John's shoulders and ended up behind the couch cushions.
I added soap to his bath one day.
He loved eating the bubbles. I loved his bubble beard.
Chewing on his washcloth. Those teeth were really giving him a hard time.
Playing with dad.
Scott prefers teething squares.
Or rings. I keep this one strapped in his stroller for easy access.
We went to meet John for a walk around the park by his work. His meeting ran late, so we took some pictures while we waited.
He loves strings/cords/straps and reaches for the camera strap, so we get these now:
Scott studying up on political issues.
Walking to book club, Scott was appropriately devouring his book. It had him captivated.
Trying out his Halloween costume.
I stuffed a blanket in so he could be a chubby shark. But then he couldn't maneuver very well.
Which is very important when trying to reach the one thing your mother prefers you not have.
All dressed up and ready for lunch.
He has not been going to sleep very well, so one afternoon I stopped trying and propped him up next to me on the couch where he just sat in a daze until he crashed.
Sometimes he has to make difficult choices, like which toy to play with.
He likes this cause and effect toy his buddy Lincoln gave him.
He startles when he figures it out. I caught one on camera and his half-smile afterward cracks me up. Also, his excited kick legs.
On his last day of being a 6-month-old, Scott lifted his right knee and started one-legged crawling. His best motivator is food.
After a couple days of practice, he is speedy. He doesn't like when you leave the room and will scoot right over to you while whining.
All of that exercise tuckers him right out.

  1. He's a smart boy to figure out getting his arm out of his jammies.
