Scott in April

This is what an afternoon of fun with Duplos looks like in our living room.
Coloring with dad during General Conference.
 Coloring can be so exciting.
Scott looks up to his dad.
Showing his tongue-out concentrating face while pulling his hat off.
Driving around in his car and matching Cardinals jersey.
 Enjoying a little fish snack.
Scott LOVES the vacuum. John chases him with it sometimes so it's a game, but even before then he's just always loved it.
When he gets excited now his arms spaz. It reminds me of the Wallace and Gromit cheese hands.
This is long, but it shows his love for the vacuum.
I was cleaning the top of the kitchen (counters, stove, toaster, microwave, etc.) while Scott dirtied the bottom.
He chewed his way through an oatmeal packet. He really likes oatmeal, apparently cooked or not.
Scott likes his face being blown on. As long as he doesn't have shoes or socks on I roll the window down for him in the car and he loves the wind.
He also figured out how to climb in and up the stroller one night. He really wanted a walk.
It was hot last week and Scott's buddy Lincoln came over to play. Linc rode the coupe while Scott enjoyed looking at the fan.
Lincoln picked up the cymbals and just busted out Jingle Bells. He is so clever and articulate. I'm hoping some of it rubs off on Scott, who hasn't spoken a real word in his life.
Scott likes baby Lou. Mostly he likes her carseat buttons, but she didn't mind letting him push them.
 Post-nap and obviously pre-haircut.
Watching him eat rice can be entertaining.
Scott started actually looking at his books on his own, not just pulling them off the shelves and scooting them around the house like cars. The shiny street lights captured his attention in this cute book from Rick and Jess.
Mesmerized by Joseph's creme brulee flame.
I was given San Jose Giants tickets when I checked out at Lucky, so we went to see them play Bakersfield. Scott fell asleep on the drive over.
When he woke up, his eyes were glued to the game.
Until the ladies sitting behind us came back with food. He stared at whoever had the plate and didn't want to turn back around. They kept joking about how the baby wanted wings. This is the face he gives when you don't share food.
One day, Scott pulled my old Bop-It out of the game cupboard.
It reminded me of this video. When we came home from a walk, Karen was playing and excitedly announced her high score. Fun for kids of all ages.

First Haircut

I knew Scott's hair needed a cut. It was straggly, stuck up all over the place after waking up, people have been calling him a girl more lately
and it sometimes looked like a mullet. But I held off as long as possible because I love his soft, wispy, baby hair. The time had come, though.
I kissed my little baby goodbye and we went to the salon down the street. John put the cape on and I handed him Scott, who promptly flipped out. I held him instead, cape-less, and he was fine.
He seemed confused, but didn't move a muscle the whole time. I think he liked the way it felt.
 All done!
It'll be nice and cool for the summer.
See ya later baby Scott. He looks like a little boy now.
Especially when he just walks himself into the room.
At least he's a cute little boy.

Golfing

We had a bogo for mini golf and Mondays are special "family night" pricing, so we went for our family home evening.
 Scott checking out the course.
He really loved the golf balls.
Helping John's ball find the hole. Little cheaters.
 A Scott-sized house.
Of course he wanted to play in the water.
The rest of the night Scott spent in the pack on John's back. He seemed to enjoy watching from there.
 I was there, too.
John (and his ball-moving assistant) won. He also beat me at bowling on our date a few weeks ago. I need to find something we can do where I'm a shoo-in for our next outing.

Disneyland

The night after California Adventure a changling replaced Scott. He woke up a lot at night whining and was not his chipper self in the morning.
We stopped at Downtown Disney on our way to the park and John and Karen bought a (family size) bag of beignets (each).
Scott ate a pouch of pureed food, but gave his beignet bite to the birds. I knew something was up when he didn't shove everything in his mouth because he always wakes up with a fierce hunger.
After he chewed his baby teething ring I felt his gums and sure enough, four more lumps were swelling. 20 minutes after a dose of Tylenol, happy Scott started coming back around.
He LOVED the train. He laughs when someone says "choo choo" or "achoo," like a fake sneeze.
We checked out Toon Town, where Grandma electrocuted herself to make Scott laugh. She said she'd do anything for her grandkids.
Driving the car. Scott liked the storybook-type rides where he could steer. I think it reminded him of his cozy coupe.
Climbing through a window. He sticks his tongue out when he's hard at work.
The Innoventions had a new Ironman section, so we went through to check it out.
It was still a little boring in my opinion, but Scott liked exploring.
Unfortunately Splash was the only mountain ride open and it was too overcast to be wet. We did Astro Blasters twice, though. Scott turned our buggy while John and I blasted. It added a fun twist to the ride to not know which direction you'd spin at a one-year-old's whim.
Despite a short nap on Pirates, Scott was tired by the end of the day. I was pretty achey, too, so after John and his parents rode Indiana Jones one last time we called it a night.
We drove down to visit Jaime and spent the next morning with them before heading home.
Scott liked their cat. But not as much as all of their electronics and cords.
John and Scott played in their huge yard, Jonathan made us his famous breakfast burritos, we toured Jaime's new shop, then hit the road.
Scott slept four hours on the drive home and would've kept going but we stopped for dinner. When we arrived at home, he squealed and clapped, going from slide to car to toy cubbies like he couldn't decide what to play first. It was nice to get away and a fun trip, but I think we were all happy to be back home again.
