Jonah's Kindergarten Graduation

Our Jonah Bear finished his first year of school.
I was hesitant sending him in the fall because he has a late birthday, but he loved school and really thrived. His favorite part was "the whole thing, every day."
Amanda came to see her favorite kindergartener get his diploma.
Perry couldn't wait to get his paws on Jonah's lego glasses.
And squeeze in the picture, of course.
My mom retired the day before, so she came to see the cute ceremony.
They sang songs and received their diplomas, then we watched a picture collage from the school year with the tear jerker ending showing a baby picture and the kids saying what they want to be when they grow up.
Jonah ended up doing well socially and academically despite being the youngest. His reading has really taken off and he tested a full grade ahead, which didn't surprise us since he loves books so much.
The kids made a little heart to give someone during a song they sang and Jonah brought it to John with a hug. It was so sweet. His Daddy is definitely his favorite person.
We have loved being in Mrs. Ramirez's class the past two years and I'll miss my weekly volunteer mornings with her. She has been perfect for our boys, emphasizing play-based learning and being a patient and nurturing teacher.
Jonah made lots of friends this year and is sad about leaving his class. Having some fun this summer will hopefully help his transition to first grade in the fall.
