Back to School 2017

The night before Scott's first day of school he picked his outfit, snack and lunch. Cold canned green beans, mmm.
I decided to buy a mini back to school session from a local photographer rather than pay for the school picture that is sometimes not cute and always expensive.
Scott wanted to bring his new backpack for pictures. Karen bought this for him--it's Rey, his favorite Star Wars character AND teal, his favorite color.
Since Jonah isn't at the elementary school anymore, he wouldn't have had pictures this year anyway. The photographer let us add a sibling for a discounted rate, so it was perfect.
I like that there were different poses to choose from and Scott was more relaxed.
Scott's teacher is Mrs. Ramirez, which he was happy to hear because it's like Cruz Ramirez. There are 8 girls and 16 boys in his class. He only goes until before lunch for the first 6 weeks, then full day.
Without knowing what to expect, I was pleased to meet the teacher and feel instantly at ease. I know she'll love Scott and he'll thrive in her class. She also has 5 bins of legos that she was going to downsize, but his preschool teacher told her if she had Scott in her class she should keep them, so she did. So far that's been his favorite part of school: legos.

Jonah is excited for another year of preschool. He has a new, young teacher and aide, Ms. Nicole and Ms. Mikaela, at the community center. His 4-5 year old class started with 7 boys and 2 girls and will get more throughout the year as kids turn 4.

He usually listens very well to other adults and is very social, so it'll be good for him to have time away from me, with peers, and getting instructions from his teachers.
He was nervous taking pictures, but I think they still turned out well. He's a cute kid.
Perry and I are going to have two mornings a week to ourselves now. I'm looking forward to some one-on-one time with him and going grocery shopping and running other errands with only one helper. I'm going to miss my big helper, though.
