Oakland Zoo

I got zoo passes from the library and took the boys up.
Jonah was afraid of the alligator.
The otters were playful and cute.
It was supposed to be in the 80's, but it was so hot. The boys wanted to play in this play area, but they were overheating.

We stopped in the shade for some lunch
in front of the giraffes.
We hiked up the mountain to see the elephants.
There was a volunteer talking about elephants and Scott and Jonah were surprisingly attentive.

Perry wanted to walk everywhere, so it took a while to get to each place.
Jonah helped us navigate.
Then the plan was to go on a few rides, but Perry was ready to nap and we were all hot.
I promised ice cream as a consolation and they picked one ride.
Hot, tired boy.
We stopped at the new Sweet Retreat at home.
Overall it was a fun day, but I'm not going back unless it's winter and the boys can all walk. Pushing a double stroller up the hills in the heat was miserable. Or better yet, we'll take John next time.
