Giants vs. Rockies vs. Rocky

Watching the Giants play the Rockies with Dad. Does anybody else think Rocky could be the Rockies mascot? I think I'll teach him to play baseball.

Flying...

Who wants to go flying with me?

Dear Karen,

I've been living with five boys out here (if you count Rocky and Bubba). So please hurry and join us. I'd like to paint nails, eat brownies, and watch a chick flick. Perhaps my favorite, WYWS, or P&P. The sooner the better.
Love,
Becky
P.S. Did you know John doesn't like brownies? It's his one flaw. Although, more for us...

Bubba's Uncle

Alan and Rocky came to stay with us while he starts his new job out here.
Bubba knew from first sniff that his pampering days were over.
Now he sits watching Rocky from a distance.
And Rocky sits watching Bubba.
They're still warming up to the idea.

Travel Packages

In my family when you go on trips you bring everyone back something fun from your travels. Like a consolation prize for having to stay home while they get to go cool places. So, when Aunt Julie sent us a package I was excited!
She sent us Trinity College shirts. I showed John all my pictures from there, so he'd know what he was representing when he wears his. He also got an Italian guide book he loves reading to me.
My sister and I got little matching penguin and dachshund charm necklaces. So cute! Now we're getting anxious for our own trip...

Big Basin

Big Basin is a state park in the Santa Cruz mountains, about 30 miles away from us. It's one of the last Sequoia and Redwood homes in the world. John and I decided to go there for a little fresh air and exercise.
On our walk we saw some enormous tree cavities
and banana slugs,
crossed cool bridges

and finally made it to the falls.
Sweet victory!
Only then we had to go back...
Luckily I didn't see the sign until we were done! That was a lot more "walk" than I'd bargained for.
(Don't worry, it didn't really take 6 hours)

Southern Education

If there's one thing I learned at school, it's an appreciation for southern food. Sure, I may have had heartburn for the first year, but it is so delicious.
I made some pulled chicken sandwiches for dinner. Mmm.
Next up: hush puppies! haha

Shoe Lovers

Bubba and I share a love for shoes.
We just show it in different ways.

Dinner Time

Now that John's food repertoire is growing, we've been trying some new dishes. We tried gnocchi a few days ago. It turned out pretty well, but took a while.
My sister's staying with us this week and one night we both happened to be wearing the same shirt.
Our Aunt Julie brought us these back from Bermuda. Not the most flattering, but extremely comfortable.
And tonight I made pizza. The crust is a Betty Crocker mix that is realllly tasty. You just add water. And only 87 cents at Target. Love that place.
Also love this shirt. (It's from my favorite Mother-In-Law)

Workin for a Living

After work we were taking pictures because... we were both wearing brown pants? Or maybe because John's hair was so rad? It's hard to recall.
Plus my sister just likes to use John's camera.
And who doesn't love a kitchen photo shoot?

Just Another Day

At the Harline House. Karyn invited us to Sunday dinner. Then they shared their treats from the Jelly Belly Factory.
Did you know Jelly Belly invented candy corn?
And market their deformed jelly beans as "Belly Flops"? John and I learned so much useful information that night.
We went swimming in Mark's pool Monday. It reminded me of a book I read in elementary school called Night Swimmers.
Tonight we went to the Harline's again so I could swim laps with Karyn. (It was too cold for John) We brought Bubba over, but I didn't take any pictures. Enjoy this one in their stead:

Girl Weekend

Ashley invited Martha and me up to San Francisco this weekend for some girl time. Minna, Ashley's niece, joined in the festivities. She loves reality tv. And I'm sure she'd love peanut butter m&ms if they were in her diet.
She is just the sweetest little baby. Seriously if I just rocked her for a couple of minutes she fell asleep. No fussing at all. And she smelled heavenly. The Janie and Jack wardrobe didn't hurt, either.
John stayed home and put baseboards in the bathroom, extremely jealous of my baby time.

Silly Boys

Whenever Bubba is resting with his arm up, John asks him,
"Yes, Bubba? Do you have a question?"
I don't know why I find this so amusing,
but it seriously cracks me up every time.
