Big Basin is a state park in the Santa Cruz mountains, about 30 miles away from us. It's one of the last Sequoia and Redwood homes in the world. John and I decided to go there for a little fresh air and exercise.
On our walk we saw some enormous tree cavities
and banana slugs,
crossed cool bridges
and finally made it to the falls.
Sweet victory!
Only then we had to go back...
Luckily I didn't see the sign until we were done! That was a lot more "walk" than I'd bargained for.
(Don't worry, it didn't really take 6 hours)
