Birthday Presents and Smash Cake

On Scott's birthday we went to Panera for dinner and he had his first kid's meal.
He ate half of a grilled cheese sandwich and a gogurt.
We came home and he opened presents from my extended family.
He was getting pretty good at ripping paper by the end.
He really liked the tissue
and loved the boxes.
We gave him a musical instrument set.
Which he also thought was tasty.
Then we sang to him and gave him a little cake.
He really liked playing with the frosting,
but wasn't eating it.

He was enjoying himself, though.
Then he tasted a bite
and that was the end of that.
We thought he was going to take a step over to the cake, but after standing for about 30 seconds he just sat down and crawled.
I think he liked it.

12 Months

At Scott's 12-month check-up he was 24 pounds, 1.5 ounces (86.5 percentile)
and 2 feet 6.5 inches (75th percentile).
He was all smiles for pictures with his cow,
but would not stay on the glider for one smile.
These were the best I could get.

Cozy Coupe

Scott fills his gas tank,
pushes the car to the door,
 starts the ignition
 and is ready to roll.
Thanks for the fun present Aunt Julie!

52 Weeks

Scott's last week of being 0.
He's been having less bottles and is down to 1-2 per day.
Last week he perfected the high five and this week has been giving out more hello and goodbye waves.
One morning he figured out how to blow raspberries on my arm. We had him do it again to John so I could get it on video.
He still loves fire.
When we wouldn't let him play in the fire he went to check out the other one he saw in the sliding glass door.
He likes to play with his barn.
And crawls around with animals or the farmer in his mouth.
He loves to eat and has recently added graham crackers and cheese to his list of favorites.
We met some friends at the park by our house and I played around with the camera a little more.

When he started eating sticks I figured it was time to come home for lunch.

February Temple Trip

Karen and Alan watched Scott while we went through the temple then brought him up so they could go.
We took some pictures before leaving while Scott was being a ray of sunshine.
I really love our new camera.
Breaking out into song
We walked around the top
Then traded family pictures with another couple.
Scott was mesmerized by the water.
He cruised around the fountain
Then tried to pick flowers.
We stopped at Fentons on our way out. John had never been and it's featured in one of our favorite movies, Up.
Scott helped us pick our sundae-the black and tan.
Then he didn't get to eat any. He entertained himself with forks instead. Maybe next time, Buddy.
