We had a second clear air day and jumped at the chance for a real hike.
My little cutie got a few wiggles out.
The rest of the time she was in the backpack.
Which she was a bit antsy in, so we snacked her slowly throughout the hike.
It was warm and there was a lot more hill than we anticipated and we were out of practice.
It was a gorgeous day, though. And we used our usual tricks of snacks and games and promises of fun things to come.
We stopped at any place that looked fun and made it seem special. Also, John and I needed some breathers from all the inclines.
I finally used a selfie to get Perry to move along. He loves seeing pictures of himself.
At the top, we could see the smokiness start to roll in like fog.
We rushed to the van and stopped at In N Out for dinner.
We ate out on the grass, which the kids thought was great fun. Almost as awesome as the milkshake they had after eating, as promised during the hike.
