We went to the San Francisco zoo and straight to the playground.
Jane was loving this speaking tube.
The kids ate their lunch and ran around. It always feels like a waste to drive an hour just to play at a playground, but it's also fun to play on new ones.
Eventually we made our way to see some of the exhibits. Scott read all of the information, as always.
And they rode a bear.
Then they all wanted pictures with the animal displays.
Jane kept following Scott and trying to get in every picture with him.
Perry tried to jump to line up with this one.
She moved on to Jonah.
We spent plenty of time watching the penguins play in the water spray and the otters swimming around and playing with us through the glass.
Scott helped Jane out of this tree bench.
And Jonah helped her up climb up what I think was a hippo.
My rainbow kids.
Jane enjoyed the freedom to roam at the zoo. It was spaced out and not crowded.
Giving the baby elephant all their love.
We walked through and saw most of the animals, but we also got a family pass so we can go back.
It was the price of 1.5 visits, so I'm sure we'll make good use of them.
I have fun memories of going on family day trips like this growing up and I love creating them with our kids.
As a parent, seeing everyone out and about together, all happy at the same time feels magical.
