October I

Other people's things are more fun. Like Perry's water bottle and John's sock.
Speaking of socks, why are Perry's in the junk drawer? Did I put them there absentmindedly, or did Jane do it intentionally? We regularly find things out of place and I have no idea how they got there.
Not the most comfortable spot nor the most entertaining book, but Jane enjoyed her library visit.
Jonah saying goodbye to his Hawaii wristband collection before his soccer game, where they weren't allowed.
Perry needed a picture to remember his, too.
The sassy one.
In pigtail braids.
Perry wrote numbers out by tens and I asked him if he learned how to do that in kindergarten. He said, no, from his calculator. Which explains why they look boxy.
Jonah making his own board game.
Scott wrote out the rules. These kids are creative and thorough.
Jane and Minnie having a snuggle morning.
Toddler yawns are just as cute as baby yawns.
Trying to fight her nap, but she ended up falling asleep sitting next to me.
Helping me make the crib into a toddler bed to see if she might like to sleep there instead of with Perry.
I bought a Tineco floor cleaner that has been life-altering. I do not like mopping and seldom do it, but with this guy our floors are getting cleaned every 2-3 days and it takes about as long as sweeping did before. Perry wanted to try it out but he's a little too short.
Bedhead baby.
One cheerio for the book, one for Janie.
Scott wanted a picture to see his braces rubberbands--black and orange for Halloween.
His first day of band.
Perry bundled up in the hammock
They've been playing some rock trading game they created in the backyard.
After his practice, Scott showed us what he learned. His siblings were very interested.
And he got a little note out. We're excited to see him learn this year.
Jane having some playground time.
And a leisurely walk home, complete with dandelion picking.
Sharing a book. I remember reading Sunday comics pages and Berenstain Bear books with my siblings, so I love to see my kids do this.
Sampling the pumpkin.
Oh the cuteness.
Overalls and pigtails. As cute as it comes.
With the weather changing, we noticed Scott has grown a bit since the last time it was chilly.
Perry loves picking something up from a buy nothing porch. He hides it from me to surprise me, as if I didn't request it already.
This time it was a math book for him, though. He loves doing math and was disappointed that they haven't done any in school yet. (They work with numbers and counting, just not equations like he's hoping to do.)
A pineappley hairdo for her pineappley haystack.
Little piggie at Emme Prusch farm park.
Stolen cheese sticks taste better.
Also, popsicles in a squatting position.
Her hands in her pockets make her dress look cupcakey.
Excited for our hike.
John and I have been trying to go for a quick loop at Belgatos after we take the boys to school every week or two when he doesn't have meetings in the morning.
Thankfully Jane is good to go on her own because she is getting heavy.
It's good to get her energy expended as well.
Getting some reading in.
And some more baking.
Ready for fall.
Hats and capes, boots and bows, Jane loves all accessories.
The fedora, which Jane calls platypus, is for her Halloween costume.
She found Halloween Minnie and Mickey inflatables and wanted to say hi.
Perry wanted his hair out of his face and was looking so cute with a bow in.
Jane helped herself to Jonah's sandwich in his packed lunch. She is very independent, which ends up making more work for me usually.
Helping me pick out a new tree.
There were lots to choose from. Our old one died and had branches break off, so it's time to take it out.
After many weeks, we finally got a permit from the city to replace it. So off to the nursery we went.
With the sweetest pigtailed, pinnied girl.
I can't get enough of her. Except sometimes during the night when I wouldn't mind if she stayed in her own bed.
