We love this wide open trail where the kids can run ahead and I don't worry about anybody falling off of cliffs.
It's usually fairly empty, too, which is nice.
Jane stopped to admire the poppies,
which her brothers warned her not to pick because they're protected as our state flower.
She did not care.
We like going up and around the mining town area and stopping at the picnic tables for a snack.
Then it's all downhill from there.
Plus good views all around.
