Disneyland IV

After riding a few rides, we took a raft to see Tom Sawyer Island.
They loved the ride over.
Unprompted Jonah loves are the best.
Jonah was a little apprehensive about the dark caves
then this head popped up and startled all of us.
View of Frontierland
The boys like the interactive parts, like pumping water. And by boys I mean Scott and John.
It was a really cool place--pretty secluded and we just had free range to explore.
Jonah tried to get this cannon ball out of the wall.
Scott was so brave. He hadn't eaten very much at breakfast, which is rare for him. Then after a few rides in the morning, he felt warm and was lethargic. I thought he had a fever, but was also just tired from getting less sleep than usual and playing hard all day, every day. After some juice and rest in the stroller, he was still calmer and quieter than usual, but acting more himself. He liked walking around the island.
They found the treasure!
Jonah just took a swim in it.
They turned up some more treasure.
Then after a few bridge crossings (Scott's favorite), we headed back over the water.
We went on some low-key rides, but it started really pouring rain, so we headed back to the hotel before dinner. It worked out really well because John wanted to try out the Rosco's chicken and waffles across the street (surprisingly delicious) and I wanted Scott to get to bed early so he'd get some proper rest. My mom stayed with the boys while we got dinner and went in the hotel jacuzzi.
The next morning, Scott ate more breakfast (although less than his normally large amount) and was in great spirits. He let Donald hug him!
Donald was just waiting for us! John and Jonah were getting fast passes.
We went on our favorite rides, then we saw Woody.
We went to go on the ferris wheel and saw him being switched out by Buzz! Scott actually wanted to go and we went back over to meet him.
Scott warmed up over the trip to meeting characters and going on rides. I was really proud of him. Jonah was his usual social self and liked talking to everyone.
We took my mom out to lunch at the Wine Country Trattoria for her birthday.
It was fancier, but still comfortable enough to bring kids. The food overall was good, except John's pasta dish was amazing. Then they brought my mom this delious Mickey cake with raspberry sauce that made the whole experience worth repeating. SO good!
It was very small to share, so we supplemented with a Ghirardelli sundae.
We rode our last rides and went to pick up our free photo.
We had one taken with the whole group and one with just our family.
We hit the road a little early to make better time in traffic and get home at a reasonable hour for work the next day. Other than Jonah screaming himself to sleep the first hour, they ride went smoothly. It was an amazing trip and we can't wait to go back before Jonah turns 3!
