Saturday we arrived at California Adventure early and got fast passes to the Cars ride right when it opened and went on the Toy Story ride while the line was short.
My mom took the boys on the carousel while we swapped roller coaster rides.
A cast member gave Scott a Lightning McQueen button to complete his ensemble. When our fast passes were ready, we headed to Radiator Springs!
Jonah was a hair too short for the little Cars rides, so we took turns again. I was so grateful to have extra family with us because John and I could do things together.
Walking through the line for the tire ride, Scott says, "Mommy look! It's Luigi! And Guido!" The people around us thought it was so funny. His little 2-year-old voice saying guido is pretty adorable, plus his excitement at recognizing the characters was fun.
We followed Lightning McQueen as he was going for a break.
Scott was in hyper-excitement mode all morning.
We met Mater!
We took turns going on his junkyard jamboree.
Scott with the little tractor
and Stanley.
We all liked Midway Mania, so we went back to try and beat our scores.
There was a longer line this time. Amanda kept Jonah entertained. (He's in his 3rd outfit of the day)
Scott asked to ride "Toy Story with Mr. 'Tato Head, not the bad guy."
He always asked to ride with Oma.
Scott beat her score (she claimed hers wasn't working properly . . . )
The nice thing about taking turns on rides is someone usually got to ride twice. Scott did all the little rides with John and me, then again with my mom and sister.
The tire ride was actually difficult and we read about them planing to redo the whole thing soon. Meanwhile, Jonah took a little nap, John rested and I took pictures.
While Jonah slept, we took Scott on the Tuck and Roll buggies.
Scott thought bumping into Daddy was hilarious.
Jonah woke up right in time to visit Monstropolis.
And Arendelle.
After being disappointed by so little snow on our trip to Utah, it was ironic that the kids played in it for the first time in southern California.
It was packed down pretty hard and the air was warm, so not quite the same experience, but the boys both loved it.
Jonah kept bringing little handfuls to this girl and saying thank you.
John made a lazy snowman. The lighting was blue and purple with Frozen music playing and it was easy to forget we were even in a theme park.
We were on our way to the Animation Studio when we were separated by a parade coming through.
We caught the end of it with Toy Story and Cars, so it was actually good timing with nice, close spots. John and Scott were across the street from the rest of us, by the lightpost.
We went to Downtown Disney to eat a quick and delicious dinner at Earl of Sandwich. Then John took the boys back to bed and the girls stayed and shopped because it was Amanda's last night.
