Disneyland III

We entered the park and Ariel was waiting for us. Scott wanted to see her, then became shy up close.
We were offered a ride to the castle on the horseless carriage!
The castle was under construction, but we took a picture from the side and the angle hid it pretty well.
We bought Jonah mouse ears and tried to get a picture with Scott and Jonah in their hats, but neither was cooperating.
Jonah was much happier with John.
We went through Fantasyland nice and early while it wasn't too crowded.
Scott touched Snow White's apple . . .
so Jonah had to touch Snow White's apple.
Jonah's riding pose.
Mesmerized by flying elephants.
Scott picking which color Dumbo he wanted to ride.
Amanda and Jonah
Oma and Scott
Mr. Toad has nothing on these crazy drivers.
Scott was excited about Peter Pan after seeing the dvd. Before the trip, I let him watch Disney movies associated with rides so he'd be familiar with as many as possible.
Trying his hand at the Sword in the Stone.
Tada! (The cast member had a loose sword for posing in pictures.)
Jonah could not get it out, either.
King Arthur's Carrousel
They let adults ride with the kids, but Jonah wanted his own.
After the Pinocchio ride, we met Olaf!
We went on Indiana Jones and had lunch in Adventureland. We tried a Dole Whip (yum!) and some food from Bengal Barbecue. In our opinion, the chicken and veggie kabobs and fruit parfait were yummy and worth getting again, but the tiger twist (like a roll we got for the boys) was not. It was dry and flavorless and even Jonah was disinterested.
Then John, Amanda and I went on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad while my mom took the boys to the ranch.
Each goat was given one little pet.
Darth Vader and Stormtrooper
Scott loved wearing pajamas outside and called himself Dark Vader all day.
Really upset that the monorail left without him.
After we told him we could take the next one.
We rode to Downtown Disney for beignets at the Jazz Kitchen (much tastier--sorry Mickey!) before Amanda had to head home.
The rest of us went back for more fun. Post-nap, Jonah was very giggly waiting for Small World in the pouch.
We did Astro Blasters again and found a cast member at the exit, wiping the floor with a little mop and bucket. When he finished, there was Donald!
We saved trying the turkey leg and enchilada "snacks" for dinner.
The boys had sandwiches.
Then we shared sundaes at Gibson Girl.
Amanda also "tried" churros. Again. Her goal was to have two per day while she was there and I think she came close.

  1. Looks like the Happiest Place on Earth still lives up to its reputation! I love how Scott's frown turned upside down when he realized there was another monorail train was on its way.
