Jane's First Day at Disneyland

As soon as Scott tested positive for covid in January, John said well now there's nothing stopping us from going to Disneyland, right?
So we booked our postponed trip for February break to celebrate Scott's birthday.
John worked on the drive down to minimize his pto use, but it was not ideal.
Thankfully, my mom flew out and came with us. He worked in the hotel while we went to Downtown Disney.
We got dinner and went to the Lego store, but the highlight was rain! The kids were excited to be in a hotel across the street so we could walk over.
The  next morning we were up, dressed, and fed bright and early to get to the park when it opened.
Right away Jane saw Mickey and friends
and we saw Jane's pure joy.
A quick castle picture on the way to the rides.
Jane's first ride!
Perry wanted to ride with Oma.
Scott and Jonah were old enough to go together, but not too old for Dumbo.
With a ride under our belts, we headed straight to Star Wars land.
So many geeks in our family, geeking out.
We swapped with Jane while everyone else went on Smuggler's Run. She made a friend who shared his bubbles, which she loved just as much as the boys loved the Star Wars rides.
Then I went on and they got to go again with me.
Meanwhile my mom bought blue milk for everyone to try.
We liked this fruity juice better, but both were good.
We explored the whole area and looked for all the details.
Then it was finally time for Rise of the Resistance, which none of us had been on before. It was incredible and worth all the hype.
Then, after months of anticipation, we went on Small World. Jane had seen the videos. She'd read the book. Memorized the song. Played with the toy. We could not wait to watch her experience this ride.
It really was a highlight of the entire trip. My favorite part was when she furrowed her eyebrow, pointed, and said, "what the heck?! I don't want those cactus!" The ride flooded right before our trip and I was worried she wouldn't get to go, but thankfully they worked around the clock to reopen.
Lunch break and introducing the kids to my favorite corn dog.
Some things never change.
We supplemented lunch with snacks from home and a cavalcade came through right in front of us! Amazing timing and luck to get a front row seat to a quick parade. It was incredible.
The kids wanted cotton candy, which is not on my list to get at all, but we said we could try everything as long as they were okay with getting one and sharing. There are so many yummy treats in the park.
We went to Toon Town, which was our last time before they renovate. We're excited to go on the Mickey ride when they finish, though.
Mickey and Minnie's houses were still closed because of covid, but we got to see them from a distance.
It'll leave something fun for next time.
Some of us braved the teacups with big spinners.
Jane LOVED these ears. The more bling, the better. I think the sequins would pull her hair and they were a little big on her, but I probably should have gotten them because she really did love them.
Crazy woman driver
We caught a surprise band performance that Perry loved until it got too loud.
Scott considering future career options.
We went back to the hotel and got the kids in bed, then my mom stayed with them so we could run back over to the parks alone.
We got into Oga's cantina
and had a drink. Then we walked on to a couple rides.
It was really fun to get to go out just us. We didn't want to stay too long, though, because we knew the kids would be getting us up early.
We came back to some little snugglers, fast asleep.
