I wanted to go to Sunol and see all the wildflowers, but the first Saturday we tried we ended up having a community service event. The next one Karen and Katie's families were in Hawaii. We finally went the 2nd weekend in May.
Unfortunately, almost all the flowers were gone by then, but it was still a beautiful place to visit.
We explored near the parking lot while we waited for Katie's family. The boys were perfectly content to throw rocks in the water all day.
We couldn't go too far because we didn't have phone service, but we found a bridge while we waited.
Scott loves this picture. He asks me to see "happy Scott."
Cousins in a tree!
The kids were pretty good about walking.
When Jonah's done he'll just sit where he is with his arms open, waiting to be rescued.
The loop we walked had a lot more hill than we were prepared for, but wasn't too long.
Scott tried to keep up with Grandpa and Lucas in the front.
Jonah hitched a ride on John's shoulders.
The views were beautiful, just dry and browner than usual.
We came across some cows on our walk.
Scott was afraid to cross the path near them.
Logan taking a little break from the carrier.
We arrived at the water and the big kids hiked up to the waterfall.
The little kids stayed to throw rocks.
Karen going up to the waterfall.
Three little bums. Since we had such a late start, they boys were ready for lunch and naps and made sure we knew it on the walk back.
Jonah fell asleep and I carried him while John ran ahead to bring the car back for us. We both got our workout for the day. It was nice to get out in nature a little and we'd definitely go back, but start earlier in the morning and maybe just do the walk to the water and back, not the loop.
