O, Christmas Tree

We decided this was the year to go back to a real tree. We're home all day and wanted the fresh pine scent plus the experience of getting one for the kids.
We searched high and low and the pickings were very few. The fires this summer and previous years of drought probably contributed. Combined with covid, there weren't many farms even open this year.
We went on a weekday over John's lunch so it wouldn't be busy. The kids had fun walking around and checking each one out.
We finally found a mostly full, tall enough tree that would be perfect for Christmas.
Perry wanted this little one because it was his size. But he came around when we explained how we want to decorate it.
I got it chopped down and John carried it to the van. The price was higher than advertised and the guy charged $10 more without asking us to put a sleeve on it. Then as we drove home we saw another farm chock full of amazing looking trees for $20 less. So now we know where to go next year (Frosty's tree farm).
Jane was just as helpful at putting the tree up as she was cutting it down.
A little wonky compared to our manufactured tree, but we all love it.
I love the cheerfulness of lights and tree scent in the house. The kids ask Alexa to turn the Christmas tree on every day and think it's magical. A great start to the season.
