The schools were closed for a week, so we had no preschool and no babysitting. I tried to get out and do something fun every day. First up were the last visits on our Groupon for Pump It Up.
Right in time, because they were expiring in a few weeks.
Perry found himself a wee snack.
Jonah made his climb more challenging by holding a ball the whole time.
Scott creating a track for the balls. He wasn't happy about the other kids ruining it.
The boys had a blast. They ran and climbed and jumped until they were good and sweaty.
Then we went to John's work and ate at the Space Bar. John was excited for me to try poutine, but I did not love it like he does.
It was sprinkling, so I brought Perry to the car and John took the big boys for a quick walk over to see the planes.
Next up was Chuck E. Cheese. I hadn't been there in years, but the boys had leftover ride credits from a birthday party the month before.
Three for one token on this ride.
We had over an hour of play with just the leftover passes.
The virtual reality roller coaster was a hit.
We could've spent longer just by going in the play place, but it was getting late.
Next up was the Monterey Bay Aquarium with Karen and Alan's grandparent membership.
Perry loved the baby area.
He played in the water until he started chewing the fish.
He took a little nibble of everything. No wonder he'd been sick for a month.
It was raining and flooding at home, but a clear, beautiful day in Monterey.
We love when Grandma comes with us.
The wave tunnel was constantly pouring water, not having waves. It's been raining enough to make up for all the drought years.
We walked down to Ghirardelli after the aquarium.
Then Jonah couldn't resist the call of the beach.
Found a new friend.
Not really dressed for the sand or water, but it doesn't bother him.
The main freeway was closed from flooding, so we went through the mountains and were dead stopped behind an accident. It took twice as long to get home and made for a long day, but it was worth the trip.
We met friends at the Discovery Museum the next day.
I let Perry down to play in the water (and chew the balls). Next time I should bring his swim suit.
I was trying to see how much taller Lulu is and she was trying to hug Jonah. They settled for a hand hold instead.
We wrapped up our eventful week at the park. Scott is big enough to take over swinging duty.
It was a tiring, but fun week!
