Perry has been doing better in first grade, but still has some rough days. After volunteering in his class on Friday, I pulled him out for lunch. We had a picnic on the lawn and played Skyjo, then I checked him back in for the afternoon.

Field trip to the planetarium. I wasn't picked to chaperone (again), but this time they had extra seats and Perry's teacher let parents join if they bought their own ticket. Then they ended up needing extra help there, so it worked out for everyone.

We went to our friends' anniversary party and it was a beautiful, elegant, intimate night with some of our favorite people. We had dinner and a backyard concert with dessert. It made for a perfect date night.

Her preschool teacher said they made dinosaur fossils with clay, but "some of us made a rainbow" instead. Jane said, "it's not a real rainbow because it's just pink."

I worked for my friend as an assistant event planner for a wedding on the Santa Lucia Nature Preserve. It was beautiful and a very busy, but fun, weekend away.
